A guilt-ridden mother Taryn is obsessed with finding a cure for her autistic son Owen, which leads her family to a strange, New Age clinic. As soon as they arrive Owen makes a miraculous recovery. Taryn's life spirals out of control as she starts to doubt her own sanity and suspects that Owen isn't "Owen" anymore. Their lives are overtaken by supernatural shadow-like humanoid figures that are seen mostly in peripheral vision. The family must fight to survive these dark figures and get their lives back.
